One Year of "Why it Matters"

Dear Readers,

A year ago I launched “Why it Matters”, a Substack dedicated to politics and current events. I envisioned this Substack as being a means of sharing my thoughts and perspective with other Americans that cared about the direction of our country and events in the world.

Time certainly flies! Over the past twelve months we’ve built a collection of articles, interviews, and think-pieces covering everything from the upcoming election and Project 2025, to Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine. To say it’s been a busy year would be an understatement but I couldn’t have done it without you, dear readers. Your support has made this newsletter possible and I wanted to sincerely thank you all for your engagement, comments, and feedback.

With the anniversary and coming election in mind, I wanted to share some exciting news on what we have ahead of us and some changes to our Substack.
