My Interview With Jim Acosta
Our message to the party of Reagan
Last week I had the pleasure of speaking with Jim Acosta and describing our strategy for securing funding for Ukraine aid.
VoteVets and Ukraine advocates have launched an ad campaign that reminds GOP voters that supporting Ukraine is entirely in-line with the principles of Ronald Reagan. Even with the $300 million dollar aid package that was extended by the White House, it is crucial that the House of Representatives passes the National Security Act as soon as possible.
One of the largest hurdles in securing defense aid for Ukraine is a shortage of “replenishment dollars” - refering to funding that is set aside for purchasing replacements of any material sent to our allies. In response to this financial limitation, I suggest that the United States uses frozen Russian assets as a means of funding Ukrainian security aid.

Just listened to a podcast with Sam Harris and Yaroslav Trofimov, who believes that a loss for Ukraine will be understood as a failure for the US the world over. Obfuscation from the Republicans aside, I think we can all agree this is true. I don't want the US to bend a knee to Putin. Trofimov seems to be an analytical and rational kind of guy, and sincerely believes Ukraine has the advantage over Russia, with a reasonable amount of additional aid.
It is also crucial to identify and transfer write downs: material that is serviceable but no longer needed by US forces. And bundle that in at cost of transport. Without delay.
