I've never met one of these guys - going back to the YAF "pro-America" protestors who showed up when I or other anti-war Vietnam vets spoke anywhee - who wasn't a service avoider. My way of shutting them down was to ask them when they were going to quit school like their fathers had done, and enlist in the Army and volunteer to go to Vietnam like the patriots they were. They shut up, every time.

Dick Cheney: "I had other priorities." That's what they all say.

My father-in-law, wounded 2x in WWII, would be frothing over Trump and his disrespect for Gold Star families and veterans. My mother-in-law's family lost a son in WWII. My Dutch grandfather went BACK to Europe to fight the Germans in WWI. My maternal grandfather served in WWII, my step-grandfather served in WWII, my father and uncle served during Korea. My husband's family has a similar long history of service... none of them would ever salute the orange menace as the "Commander In Chief." We cannot let him get near the White House, ever again.
