Before you sign on the dotted line consider this: do you REALLY believe that this administration will live up to their side of the bargain? The money for this has not been appropriated. It is highly unlikely that this Congress will fund 8 months of pay to thousands & thousands of employees who are no longer working for their respective departments. The whole idea behind the DOGE scam is to save money. Paying all these people not to work for 8 months is hardly saving money is it? And I'm hoping that the people considering this are not gullible & naive enough to think that they'll really be paid. You saw what Musk did to Twitter. He certainly isn't going to care one iota for a member of the "deep state". If you happen to be a trump voter that is affected by this pull yourself away from FOX & get some real news about this plan. I can guarantee you it WILL NOT work out the way it has been promised. Thank you, Col Vindman for sharing that awful time with us. I was able to watch all of both Impeachment hearings. Your testimony was valid and showed you to be a man of great integrity, I am glad trump was impeached both times - he should have been found guilty both times too. The evidence, the testimony in both impeachment hearings was clear, honest and valid. Shame on the Senate who let this criminal escape. Shame also on our judiciary who slow walked the cases for treason, breaking of his oath, theft of Federal Property. He should be sitting on his sorry ass in prison, not the White House.
Something I shared with friends tonight, about being in the company of Alexander Vindman, here on Substack:
"I've admired him from a distance over the last several years and it's been something I've appreciated. And at times, he does 'Substack Live' where we get to see him and hear him. For me, that's been kind of surreal."
I said that because it's true. And it all began in 2019 when Lieutenant Colonel Vindman testified to the truth. What's more, despite the consequences for being a truth-teller, he hasn't regrets, standing firm as he had, in his duty to the constitution and to democracy in the presence of the American people.
Wonder if I'd be as courageous. And as true to myself, and to my purpose.
I pray that the civil servants will all hold steadfast and continue doing their very important work. We should know more about them and their work so that the American people understand how vital they are to the survival of America.
How about fighting fire with fire? Boycott Tesla, including your personal Starlink connection. Boycott Trump merchandise and properties. Boycott Facebook. It's difficult and may not take at first, but one way to bring them down is to hit them in the wallet. Europe is leading the way on this. Tesla sales there are tanking. (I realize that a lot of us can't afford these products and services anyway, but we can find some way to withhold our eyeballs if not our money.)
I remember that day, 5 years ago, Lt. Col. Vindman. I was at work (at our state university) when the professor across the hall came into my office to tell me the news of your firing. I had watched your testimony during the first impeachment trial, and had read how concerned your family, who had lived under Soviet rule, was for your safety.
The extraordinary courage you showed then, and continue to have to this day, is incomprehensible to most. I felt the chill of fear for our country during that time, and my worst case scenario is coming true every day.
Nothing that has happened since the GOP was tested, and proved to be incapable of defending our country, surprises me. They have not only allowed the ‘defiant children’ to rise up against their imagined ‘enemies’, they have joined them in ransacking our country, and dismantling our Constitution.
When the Musk realized how easily the cowardly orange idol of his cult-of-imbeciles can be manipulated by his infantile ego, he rushed to grab as much control of the government as he could knowing our system of checks and balances is at it’s weakest point with the current Supreme Court.
Undoubtedly the lawsuits being brought against the current administration will end up in the SCOTUS, but just maybe we can hold the line for the next 2 years using the same stalling tactics that protected the Criminal in Chief. I would love to be part of a citizens’ class action suit against anyone doing Musk’s and his orange dummy’s bidding!
