I honestly no longer understand how we can stop this man before our DEMOCRACY has been destroyed. We have members of the GOP who no longer care. The Supreme Court has proven they no longer care about our DEMOCRACY. I feel lost. I am terrified. I have zero trust in our media.

Many feel the same way, yes. Reporters have a very difficult job these days esp.

But not trusting ‘media’ … media cuts a pretty broad swath & there still are some dependable sites.

— But yes, Press Freedoms in America today shows America lagging behind most other developed countries - nearby Canada ranking 🇨🇦 21st & U.S. 🇺🇸 57th - down 10 points since Trump entered the scene. (‘Miss Piggy’?)

— Norway leads at #1, Sweden 4, Ireland 7, UK 20, S. Africa 27, Austria 29, to compare.

The good news is that Trump seems to be burning himself out.

… and we can still demonstrate, vote & dare I say … Pray? 🌿

I have not trusted mainstream American media for a very longtime. They are entertainers more than press. Substack has been a joy.

🔹 News ABC’s — Assume nothing, Believe no one, Check everything. 🦋

Yes, part of the reason I’m here too — WaPo was OK for awhile but became too infiltrated with right-wingers so I quit.

I still appreciate *some* Guardian, Mother Jones, New YorkER, Reuters, CNN, Haaretz, and definitely The Atlantic — but it doesn’t mean I place *total* trust in them … check & compare = informed opinions.

It appears we have a similar reading style. The more news sources read the more you are able to wisely discuss and possibly to show others how to understand truth.

Yes, and help us to avoid going off half-baked/ cocked. 🌿

Most recently I really appreciated Mark Herling’s BULWARK article: did you read it?

What Americans Should Understand About the Military Disobeying Illegal Orders

And why it matters there are two military oaths

Basically, the way the law currently stand SHOULD be sufficient protection from following illegal orders — how the chain of command works, there are 2 OATHS taken, one by officers, the others by rank & file.

There are few who understand the importance of our military disobeying illegal orders. It is likely one of the most difficult orders. Nobody expects their commander to give an illegal order but without that we have anarchy. The current Supreme Court has erased that order by pretty much stating that trump cannot be held accountable for illegal orders while in office. Messy to say the least.

What do you mean by "American media"? There are hundreds of thousands of media outlets in the U.S. If you mean mainstream media, I consider CNN to be relatively reliable. You can compare the coverage of events in different media to build a multidimensional picture.

DONNIE once again caves to his puppet master.

This is not a peace plan only surrender to Russia.

Please pray for Ukraine

Jay Jay Eh's avatar

Winter approaching & very slow progress by Russian troops = Putin wanting to push his ‘plan’.

Trump in a weakened position politically, at home, plus Putin having kompromat? 🙄

This is a war of ‘attrition’ for both sides, altho Russia has greater population to provide troops & gets troops imported from fellow authoritarian countries.

🔹Steve Witkoff, Trump’s emissary here (collaborating with Marco Rubio) his qualification for developing a peace plan here? He’s a real estate developer!

— so when you’re a hammer, everything looks like a nail?

ie This ‘deal’ will offer little benefit to Ukraine & Europe, it’s a sell-out / shake-down.

Were you aware that the U.S. invaded Mexico - by accident???

Thank you for highlighting the impact on our national security with this “plan”. Unbelievable that no republican in Congress can take a stand against this blatant corruption. Every damn day.

Dear Alexander, can you please comment on Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act? It was signed into law by Trump on August 2, 2017. Here is a quote regarding Ukraine: SEC. 257. UKRAINIAN ENERGY SECURITY.

(a) STATEMENT OF POLICY.—It is the policy of the United

States—

kcroghan on LAP7511N33PROD with PUBLAWS

(1) to support the Government of Ukraine in restoring

its sovereign and territorial integrity;

(2) to condemn and oppose all of the destabilizing efforts

by the Government of the Russian Federation in Ukraine in

violation of its obligations and international commitments;

(3) to never recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea

by the Government of the Russian Federation or the separation

of any portion of Ukrainian territory through the use of military

force;

(4) to deter the Government of the Russian Federation

from further destabilizing and invading Ukraine and other

independent countries in Central and Eastern Europe and the

Caucusus […]

Why does no one mention this law, neither Congress nor anyone at all? Can a campaign of petitioning our Congresspersons be launched to resurrect it and remind our President about our own responsibilities according to it?

Thank you for educationing everyone. Appeasement means being complicit. Trump doesn't care who he "thows under the bus", to enrich himself! He is a true malignant narcissist, sociopath. I hope your call for action is needed and taken seriously. When the full knowledge of his involvement in the Epstein project is revealed, the rats will have to jump ship.
