How will we be able to see this film?

I’m in NC. Where else will the film be shown?

Everyone should see the movie 7 Days in May. Instead of an authoritarian President, a General leads a US coup. All risks to Democracy need to be assessed. See the movie. Chilling....

I remember that book from my childhood. It really was chilling.

Me too. And that fear distracts me and exhausts me if I let it take me away from doing what I can to help Kamala Harris win, and if I and others do everything we can, we just might hold the Senate and flip the House. With a trifecta we could rein in the rogue Supreme Court and break Trump’s grip on the Republican party.

“[we could] break Trump’s grip on the Republican party.“

This was exactly what Pete Buttigieg said in an interview the other day. I forget if it was the NYT or a TV interview, but Pete said he thought the GOP had become so much of a Cult of Trump that if Trump got soundly defeated this year (especially with Vance as V.P. on the ticket) that would put a huge crack in the MAGA movement and ultimately break it apart. Pete doesn’t think there’s someone else with the charisma(?) of Trump to keep the movement together, and if Trump is shown to be a loser who backs losers (defeats in the House and Senate), the bottom could fall out of the movement.

That doesn’t mean the grievances that have rise to MAGA will go away. They’ll probably regroup and come back later, but maybe in a less viral form. Or the Democrats could decide to give up on some of the stuff that drives people crazy, like CRT and DEI. If Democrats keep pounding away on those things they’re doomed to be fighting MAGA forever.

There’s something in the air… let us look forward and get some traction. Coming from an old thespian.

Russia releases US journalist Evan Gershkovich in major prisoner swap with west – live by Guardian and Evan according to WSJ made a proposal once freed, would PP agree to an interview. Unbelievable wanting that, I hope he reconsiders his request, definitely not using good judgment or common sense.
