View from the House floor after the Ukraine bill was passed

This afternoon the House of Representatives passed the $60 billion Ukraine security aid bill. Today’s vote represents the last legislative hurdle for the long-overdue package.

Americans on both sides of the aisle should view the package as a sign of Washington’s support for our allies abroad. Resuming delivery of material and equipment to Ukraine should translate into job growth in the United States, positive developments in Eastern Ukraine, and an expanding partnership between Washington and Kyiv.

For now though, let’s celebrate today’s vote. Supporting Ukraine’s resistance against Russia’s ongoing invasion isn’t just a strategic interest - it’s the right thing to do.

And here in America, right matters.
