Like many of you, I had low expectations for Trump’s congressional address earlier this week. Having seen the damage done by his policies and the chaos brought about by the so-called “Department of Government Efficiency”, I figured this would be more of a campaign rally than a presidential address.

While previous administrations have used congressional addresses as a means of delivering a message of unity and bipartisan compromise in times of division, the message this week was simple: either you’re onboard or you’re in my crosshairs. Trump is clearly aware that the flurry of executive orders signed by his administration is unprecedented and seems to enjoy personally undoing the policies of his predecessors. This is Project 2025 in action and will lead to a reshaping of the Federal Government if unopposed.
