The Biden Administration just announced over 500 new sanctions to be placed on Russia following the murder of Alexei Navalny. I applaud this decision, but recent history has shown us that mere sanctions will not deter Putin. It is time for Congress to rise to the moment and put aside partisan politics for the sake of our natural security. As I said on MSNBC this afternoon, if Congress does not pass the bipartisan National Security Bill it is risking a direct conflict between Russia and NATO. It’s unbelievable that all of my 70+ years the Republicans Party was always ready to take stands against Russia. Always pro-American servicemen and servicewomen- now they shut their eyes & mouths, and Pucker Up to Putin.
