As the mother of an Army son who served in Kosovo and Afghanistan I was touched by your discussions of the aftermath of your combat experiences as my son never talks about it. Now I feel I can relate to him a tiny bit. Also, I appreciated your discussing things from the Russian perspective, particularly that of the ordinary Russian citizen as I am married to one. You might have gone further with this line of discussion but maybe at a future time. Very mixed feelings in Russia as you surely know but little hope of the political tide turning there unless they are soundly defeated. So very sad. It seems like so long ago, 30 years in fact, when I travelled from DC to Kiev and the airline staff person asked me about Kiev, Ukraine, “Which is the city and which is the country?” Unfortunately, we now know the difference.
Question for a career military man. In Dallas November 1963 LHO fired 3 shots in 2.8 seconds with a bolt action rifle at a target 80 meters away, traveling at 12 mph, and an angle of 17-18 degrees. He was a USMC sharpshooter, not an expert. Your thoughts?
I feel - We have to listen to truth and Learn in order to make decisions and defend Ourselves. As well as help others. Life is never all joy- or calm beauty! In fact it is rarely that! But denying ourselves the chance to learn & see is to allow the brutes to win. It is distressing. But imagine what’s happening in Ukraine happening here...if Trump and his Fascist RepubliCons win; that IS possible.
