Five years ago today, I orchestrated a meeting in the West Wing of the White House between the U.S. and Ukraine National Security Advisors. During that meeting one of Donald Trump’s henchmen (who self-invited himself to the meeting) revealed a scheme to steal the 2020 election. The scheme involved extorting newly elected President Zelenskyy to launch an investigation into Joe Biden.
I reported that extortion scheme, recognizing it to be a gross abuse of power by Trump and his cronies, a major threat to national security undermining U.S. efforts to prevent the expansion of the Russia-Ukraine war, and a scheme to undo free and fair elections and steal the 2020 presidential election. I reported the abuse of power and corruption because I knew that no-one was above the law.
