👏👏👏👏👏

I hope both the Army and Congress do investigate. I wonder if there are other ways to symbolically castigate him for this and influence public opinion. Your fine essay is a great start.

The Trump debacle at Arlington was a national disgrace, as is Trump.

I want to jump a little off topic here for just a moment to talk about the Harris campaign and a subject that I know is very important to Lieutenant Colonel Vindman. One thing Kamala Harris could do to install confidence with American centrist voters would be to sit down with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

She should make that meeting very public and transparent. She should assure Zelenskyy that a Harris administration will be there for Ukraine and is committed to the mission of freeing Ukraine from the Russian invasion. That would give the Vice President a big boost in terms of credibility on national security.

Keep up the great work!

As a veteran I agree with you 100%. The US Army should investigate this travesty further.

I agree that the US Army bowed down to trump during his administration. It sickened me. Not recalling Flynn and making him face a court martial for, at the very least, fomenting violence was (and still is) disgraceful.

He loves confrontation. It brings the focus back on him.

How can your comments be shared with military families. Don't know how widely the Daily Beast is read by military families. How about Military Times or one of the other publications independent of DoD?

This somehow reminds me of the time Mr. Trump strode down a street in order to be photographed while standing on a corner in front of a Church waving a Bible.

Are these acts meant to express a connection with Christianity, or sympathy for families of fallen soldiers or…

… simply an act …

… by a man of shallow principles.

Dogs/cats/pets.... Yum!

Ryan Mc Beth is working to trace where/when this absurd social media rumor started, and will no doubt reveal a number of the people that amplified it to where it reached its culmination when Donald Trump blurted it out on what was one of the most viewed TV broadcasts since radio!

It will take a few days, but be sure to check Ryan’s channel on both Substack and YouTube.

Those unfamiliar with Ryan, here is a link to a promotion video from SubStack that is part of a series being produced to introduce SubStack creators to the ‘outside world’...

Dr. Vindman, I'm happy to have found this space. I like to post action steps - here’s something we can do! Tens of thousands of registered voters have been illegally purged in battleground states. Many will find out – too late – that they’re unable to vote. People can (re)register up until Oct. 7 - but they need to be aware of what’s going on and look into it. I’m going to send postcards to voters in Georgia, Arizona, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. Folks who go to voterizer.org/ can easily find out if they’re (still) registered to vote and can also request an absentee/mail-in ballot right there. This is important as, in some areas, people won’t feel safe going to vote in person, with the unrest we are bracing for.

I’ve printed the voterizer.org/ QR code onto stickers, which I’ll affix to the postcards with a note of explanation.

WHO WILL JOIN ME?

No....

Nothing can be lower than the hole Donald is now digging for himself during the debate!

Kamala, keep smiling!

I expect Media fact checkers and pundits will have a ball with all the things he is spouting off on what is probably the most viewed program on television since radio!

I’ll bet China’s President Xi will certainly be on hand to help Trump out of the hole he’s digging once he gets there!

Stay Well...

Oops…

Here is a better version:

Code of Federal Regulations

32 CFR Subchapter D - SUBCHAPTER D—MILITARY RESERVATIONS AND NATIONAL CEMETERIES

Part 553

§ 553.32 Conduct of memorial services and ceremonies.

(a) The Executive Director shall ensure the sanctity of public and private memorial and ceremonial events.

(b) All memorial services and ceremonies within Army National Military Cemetaries other than official ceremonies, shall be purely memorial in purpose and may be dedicated only to:

(1) The memory of all those interred, inurned, or memorialized in Army National Military Cemeteries;

(2) The memory of all those who died in the military service of the United States while serving during a particular conflict or while serving in a particular military unit or units; or

(3) The memory of the individual or individuals to be interred, inurned, or memorialized at the particular site at which the service or ceremony is held.

(c) Memorial services and Army National Military Cemeteries will not include partisan political activities.

(d) Private memorial services may be closed to the media and public as determined by the decedent's primary next of kin;

(e) Public memorial services and public wreath-laying ceremonies shall be open to all members of the public to observe.’

From what I gather…

Part (a) states that…

‘The Executive Director shall ensure the sanctity of public and private memorial and ceremonial events.’

And part (c) says…

‘(c) Memorial services and ceremonies at Army National Military Cemeteries will not include partisan political activities.’

According to news reports, Arlington National Cemetery representatives state that prohibited ‘partisan political activities’ at memorial services and ceremonies held there include…

‘photographers, content creators or any other persons attending for purposes, or in direct support of a partisan political candidate’s campaign.’

There is no doubt in my mind that there is code of conduct within park regulations for Arlington National Cemetery that is a regular part of brochures and communications with parties who might wish to arrange for a group ceremony.

So….

I can only assume that any political figure invited to be a guest at a memorial held at Arlington National Cemetery that shows up with his own bevy of campaign paparazzi in tow is in clear violation of the prohibition of partisan political activities at such events.

I expect that the official that was ignored and presumably physically accosted was a person who’s job includes ensuring that visitors and event participants are made aware of the park’s rules and regulations.

Am I seeing things? When I zoom in on the gravestone the dates that I see are 1990 to 202?
