My concern is that ICE is the largest law enforcement agency in the country, and Trump will weaponize it. I am surprised they didn't call it Trump Alcatraz, as if it were a hotel.

It's early...

If Trump isn't (essentially) FIRED in '26, soon after almost everything will likely be named after Trump in some manner.

That is about the only guaranteed method of appealing to someone who gave up a much larger fortune in the quest to have everything on Earth named after him.

And don't be shy!

After all, every option to DESTROY has been left open for by the SC for the next Dem president also. I think it safe to assume that when the Supreme(sic) Court gave Trump every selfish, hate-filled reason to be 100% lawless, they clearly either presumed no Dem would ever sit in the Oval Office, or Dems would simply never begin to APPROACH the GOP in terms of deliberate cruelty.

What if any new potential legislation was just as ruthless as theirs, but in favor of the lower 99%? After all, we're about the only people left paying for America out of our own pockets...especially after the new tax rates kick in.

Carol......and the Dems need to keep track of all the crimes that trump, his regime and the Supreme Court have done so they can all be impeached!!!

The “brilliant” part of the bill is that the impact of Medicaid cuts (and therefore hospital closures) won’t be felt until after the midterms. This presents a huge misinformation problem with flat out GOP lies. MN Rep.Tom Emmer already sent an email to constituents claiming this bill cuts the deficit by $2 trillion and energy costs will go down. Stunning.

Why doesn’t ICE go to the prisons and get immigrant violent offenders from there?

It is even worse, Col Vindman, you know and we know, how bad these cuts in Medicaid and SNAP, will be for the children, disabled. elderly, and poor BUT they don't take effect until December 2026. So, the maggot base won't be aware of those cuts until after they has slit their own throats, voting for MAGAt rethuglicans in November 2026.

Isn’t that the truth, Millicent! My husband says to me, “Aging is not for the faint of heart. We’ve fought many battles over our lifetime. We’ll just get out our walkers and wheelchairs and Go!” But I must admit, it takes a little more energy than it used to. As Ava DuVernay says in her Substack, “ONWARD!!”

“… ICE after the BBB is a national police force under Trump’s direct control that may operate outside of its initial mandate and may be wielded against his enemies.”

Trump got to where he is now largely by DEMONIZING ‘others’.

Once referred to as “political opponents” he now paints as ‘enemies’ and worse.

There is a saying “Give the dog a good name to live UP to” — but Trump reverses this, for his cynical benefit. And the people buying into this don’t *want to realize it. Their ignorance is their carte blanc … ‘Unrestricted power to act at one's own discretion; unconditional authority’, the same as their elected emperor, Trump.

It’s been declared a small ray of sunshine that Senator Tillis appears mortified by the BBB and claims to pursue the interests of the common citizen.

The Republican Party needs a designated heir to the Trump Presidency.

The opportunity to stage himself as a more decent Presidential candidate than Ivanka or Eric Trump is irresistible.

I do not claim any insight into Tillis’ intentions nor moral nature. The timing fits with the traditional Presidential election cycle.
